Privacy
What the magazine collects when you read it or send us something, and what happens to it.
What the form collects
- What you are sending: a story pitch or article, a news tip, an advertising question or something else.
- Your name and email address. The form needs both so a reply can reach you.
- Your pitch, tip or question, and any files you attach (up to three). Attached files are stored privately with your message.
- The page you sent it from.
Why, and who sees it
We use it to read what you sent and, if we take it up, to reply to you by email. Not every message gets a reply.
We do not sell your details. We do not add you to a mailing list, and the magazine has no newsletter.
What the site notes when you visit
- Visits are counted on our server: the page, the site that linked you here, your country, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer. Your IP address is not kept for this count.
- If a script on a page fails, your browser sends us the error, the page address and your connection type, so we can fix it.
- The site also uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (their names start with _ga, _gid and _gat) so it can tell one visit from another. Google explains what it does with that data in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- You can block those cookies in your browser settings. The articles and the form work without them.
Spam
The form has one hidden field that people never see. Automated spam fills it in, and those submissions are dropped.
A copy, a correction, or deletion
Send a note through the form on the contact page with the name and email address you used. Say whether you want a copy of what we hold, a correction, or everything deleted.
